World's first true VoIP application for Blackberry!

Real VoIP Calling

Calls can now be directly made over WiFi. This is the most promising feature and what we believe should be a definite boon to the millions of Blackberry customers, especially within enterprises with offices around the world. Apart from worldwide calling, TringMe users will be able to call each other for free over WiFi.
Apps

Free Peer-to-Peer Call

Blackberry users can now download the application and enjoy FREE calling worldwide. To make and receive FREE peer-to-peer calls over WiFi/3G, you just need to follow a few steps. Click here to know more.

Single Click Conferencing

Creating conference calls is as simple as selecting contacts and pressing the call button or by just clicking on conference menu item. Users can conference among Blackberry Contacts or Blackberry Groups worldwide without any dial-in number or PIN to remember. The application will call all the selected contacts/groups and conference them in a few seconds.

Worldwide Calls & SMS

Apart from direct WiFi calls, users will be able to call worldwide using any local access number or callback feature. For e.g. if WiFi is not available, then international calls can be routed via local access numbers to ensure minimum call costs. If that isn't feasible, then callback mechanism is available as well. The application gives complete flexibility to the user to choose the type of call that suits best.

Enterprise Ready, Complete Branding and Customization Support

TringMe application offers end-to-end encryption for direct WiFi calls. Enterprises can leverage direct WiFi calls for their corporate phone network which enables their employees to be directly linked with their local exchange. For example, when a local exchange number is dialled, it will ring the employee's Blackberry rather than the desktop phone. The application is completely customizable and brandable.

No Internet or BIS Service Needed

All operators offer both Email only or Email+Internet (BIS) plan. Many users do not opt for BIS and use Email only plan which is definitely cheaper. The downside of that is that most applications will not run on Email only plan. If TringMe's application does not find any data connectivity, it uses Email channel to communicate and enables users to initiate calls even if they do not have an internet plan.

NFC-enabled BlackBerry Bolds

Research In Motion has unveiled its latest BlackBerry smartphones, the Bold 9900 and Bold 9930, which both run on the new BlackBerry 7 OS.

The two smartphones are essentially the same device with one difference. The 9900 supports HSPA+ mobile broadband, while the 9930 supports both the CDMA EV-DO Rev A standard, which is widely used in North America, and HSPA+ global roaming. The phones are the first in RIM's line-up to incorporate near-field communication (NFC) technology.
In a statement, Research In Motion (RIM) chief Mike Lazaridis said the handsets "offer a highly refined user experience with blazingly fast performance, a brilliant touchscreen and an outstanding typing experience".

One of the new features of the BlackBerry 7 OS is its Liquid Graphics touchscreen technology, which allows a frame rate of up to 60 frames per second. The display on the phones offers a pixel density of 287 pixels per inch — less than the iPhone 4's 326, but greater than the Samsung Nexus S's 235. This density is created via the use of a 480x640-pixel resolution on the 2.8-inch capacitive screen.

SuperHero Solo

Superhero Solo is a simple app that will protect your Blackberry from loss or theft. It will allow you to lock and locate your Blackberry in the case of it ever falling into the wrong hands or being lost. The user is able to text a PIN code to their Blackberry to lock down the phone, which can then emit a loud siren from the speaker if you turn the feature on.

The user can determine whether their Blackberry should lock automatically in the event of a SIM change or removal. A notification will then be sent to the alternative number including the Blackberry's current location information. It is also possible to lock the device after a call has been made to a contact not within the contact list and also after one minute of inactivity.

BlackBerry Protect

BlackBerry Protect allows you the ability to wirelessly backup, restore and locate your BlackBerry® smartphone. In the event that your BlackBerry smartphone is misplaced, lost or stolen, BlackBerry Protect provides features like: remote device wipe, remote device lock, ‘Lost and Found’ screen, locate device on a map, remote activation of the BlackBerry smartphone loud ringer, and wireless device backup and restore.

BlackBerry Protect Setup
First, the user would need to download and install the BlackBerry Protect application on their BlackBerry smartphone. After completing the initial registration, you’ll be given the option to backup the data on your BlackBerry smartphone. You will be able to decide what you want to back up – contacts, calendar, memos, tasks, browser bookmarks, and/or text messages. You will even be able to choose how often your BlackBerry smartphone is automatically backed up (i.e. daily, weekly, and monthly). Also, once the first back up is completed, only incremental data is backed up (i.e. new data since the last backup) to reduce data usage. Remember to always check with your wireless service provider to determine any additional charges that may be incurred through your use of the wireless network.
Misplacing your BlackBerry Smartphone (Loud Ring Feature)
When you misplace your Blackberry around your house, simply log into the BlackBerry Protect web portal where you can activate the loud ring feature – this makes your BlackBerry smartphone ring loudly for one minute, even if you had the profile set to silent. It also changes the default profile to ‘loud’, so you can call your BlackBerry smartphone to try to locate if you didn’t find it while it was initially ringing.
Dealing with a lost BlackBerry Smartphone (Lock, Lost and Found screen, Locating and Wiping Features)
In another situation, let’s say that you was out running errands, and when you got home you couldn’t find your BlackBerry smartphone. You realize you must have left it at one of the stores you was at. In this case, you want to be sure that if someone finds your BlackBerry smartphone, they can’t access any of your personal information on your device, and you want to try to locate the device so that you can hopefully get it back.
First, you would log onto the BlackBerry Protect web portal, where you would lock your BlackBerry smartphone and set a password.
Next, you would set the ‘lost and found’ screen with a message and contact information in case the device is found – this way they know who owns the device and can get ahold of you to let you know they found it.
Next, still from within the BlackBerry Protect web portal, you can use the ‘view current location feature’, which will use the built-in GPS functionality in most BlackBerry smartphones to help show you the current location of your BlackBerry smartphone. This will give you a good idea of where to find it.
In the worst-case scenario, if you can’t find your BlackBerry smartphone and no one has called to say they have found it, you can use the Remote Wipe feature to delete all the information off the device, including the data stored on the device and on the Micro-SD card.
Getting a new BlackBerry Smartphone (Restore from Backup Feature)
Once you have a new BlackBerry smartphone, you can wirelessly restore all your backed up data from your old device onto your new device. So, even though you lost your BlackBerry smartphone, all of your information can be transferred to your new BlackBerry smartphone.
