How to Install Chinese Input to Your Blackberry!

1.) Install Blackberry Desktop Manager. Normally the installer is come with the box or you can download the latest version from http://us.blackberry.com/apps-software/desktop/

2.) Download and install Blackberry Firmware with Chinese pack. Click http://us.blackberry.com/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp to download the appropriate pack. Normally the firmware bundle with Chinese Input will end with EastAsia or AsiaLanguage, if you can not find the correct version, you can try to download from other telco site. Do not open Device Manager after the installation completed.

3.) Connect your Blackberry to USB port. Go to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader. Remove vendor.xml and run Loader.exe


4.) Make sure the Connection is showing your PIN number. Select Next button and wait for the loading until it show the application list.


5.) Select your Chinese input method from East Asian Language and Input Support. Click next to complete the installation. The installation will take about 15minutes to complete. Please do not stop or unplug your Blackberry during the installation.

6.) After installation complete you can change your Input method by pressing Alt + Enter button.

Notes:: Please backup your data before you perform any upgrade.This method also applicable to install other languages.

  2. Hi Kimberly, make sure you remove vendor.xml file. Another easier way is to run BlackBerry Desktop manager and make sure it is connected to Internet.

  3. the East Asian Language and Input Suppoort is not on the "application list"... any suggestion??

    1. Please make sure you have downloaded the correct East Asian package and installed to your PC. Which version you have downloaded?

    I have downloaded the "700_b060_multilanguage" and "9800hwAsia_PBr6.0.0_rel2921_PL6.6.0.241_A6.0.0.666_Brightstar_Hong_Kong", after i installed the "700_b060_multilanguage" and then I installed the "9800hwAsia_PBr6.0.0_rel2921_PL6.6.0.241_A6.0.0.666_Brightstar_Hong_Kong" as well, but I cant find the "East Asian Language and Input Suppoort" option of the Application List at all...

    any idea??

    My Balckberry 8520 still can't detect Chinese character after installed East Asian Language and Input Suppoort is not on the "application list"... any suggestion??
