RIM’s PlayBook Supports Android Apps

RIM will allow the tablet to run Android apps. The people in the company suggested that it is developing technology that will allow PlayBook’s QNX operating system to access the apps. This will open up more than 130, 000 Android apps for customers.

BlackBerry’s corporate status and security features may be the main attraction but by including a library of apps, this can pull in customers who may go for alternative devices. The PlayBook does not come with a lot of app and by filling this hole with Android apps; this could be the answer for a successful launch.

RIM’s QNX OS will give the PlayBook more consistency. The OS was created for low power, increase responsiveness and reduce chances for devices to crash. This means that the OS system is an ideal candidate to lay the groundwork for PlayBook.
